This is easy so just read it please

Scientific American just featured an article that give us twelve ways (very simple ways) to lessen your footprint.

1. Mow Down Emissions
  • I don't have a lawn and most people I know don't but I think this should apply to the gas blowers and weed whackers EVERYONE uses.
2. Dead Bulb Depository
  • This one surprised me but you'll have to read it to understand why.
3. Blow Up the Car (Tires)
  • HAHAHA... wasn't Obama saying something like this a while ago?
4. Wrap the Heater
  • I rent but you better believe I'll be talking to my landlord but I doubt it'll do any good.
5. Kid Power
  • Ummm...
6. Addicted to the Bottle
  • I'm already good about this one but I know a lot of my friends are totally bad about this. I never bought into the bottled water craze because IT'S STUPID. And now we're seeing the after effects of this ridiculous trend. Any of you who think you can "taste the difference" I challenge you to a double blind test. Even if that's the case and you really can "taste" it, it's still not worth it!
7. Save the Beach
  • well, duh... but yeah when I do move to the coast (and I will) that'll be something I'll have to be aware of.
8. Driving 65 miles per hour instead of 75 mph
  • My only qualm with this one is I know quite a few car guys and I'd have to consult them before being sure of this but I'm pretty sure some cars are more efficient at higher speeds than others. I think this should be something that car manufacturers should be more upfront and be part of the information given with the M/G info. In other words instead of telling me the "highway M/G" maybe we should be told what speed our car is most efficient.
9. Junk the Mail
  • But, but, how will I kill flys in my house
10. At the Office ...
  • Don't even get me started. This is a bitter subject to me.
11. Running hot water at a sink for five minutes uses the same amount of energy as burning a 60-watt lightbulb for 14 hours
  • I'll just give you this one. This one I have to say surprised me.
12. Recycling Hard Stuff
  • This is good info for me cuz not only am I a gadget-aholic, but I work in a camera store. I see so many broken electronics that I should make these places known to my customers...
Ok so that's it I hope you've been learned!
